Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Alicia received her Bachelor of Arts in International Business and French from Taylor University in 2003. Alicia returned to the Chicagoland area and began her legal career working as a paralegal in downtown Chicago. She continued to develop her legal skills while working at small to mid-sized law firms in Atlanta and throughout Indiana.
Alicia earned her juris doctorate from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. While attending law school, Alicia clerked for a solo practitioner, focusing in the areas of Estate Planning and Elder Law. She also completed externships with the Indiana Department of Revenue Inheritance Tax Division, as well as the Marion County Circuit and Superior Courts. Alicia is licensed in both Texas and Florida. Over the past ten years, Alicia has served her clients in various estate planning firms, most recently as a partner of Spooner Thompson Law, PLLC. Alicia is currently completing a Masters of Law program (L.L.M.) in Taxation at Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and is expected to complete this program in Spring 2025.
Alicia and her husband, Jared, have twins, Hadley and Jude. Alicia enjoys reading non-legal books in her spare time, cooking, listening to podcasts, movie nights, spending time outdoors, traveling and experiencing new cultures with her family.
